Vision Statement

The Adrienne C. Nelson High School counseling program envisions all ANHS students will engage in rigorous, high-quality educational experiences that prepare them to become self-aware, successful citizens who contribute positively to their communities. Through collaborative partnerships among schools, families, and the community, students will understand their unique strengths and challenges, develop meaningful plans for their future, and build the skills, responsibility, and resilience needed to thrive in a changing world.

 Mission Statement

The mission of the Adrienne C. Nelson High School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven, and student-centered counseling program that supports the academic, career, and social-emotional development of every student. Through collaboration and advocacy with families, staff, and the community, every student will have equitable access to the opportunities, resources, knowledge, and skills needed to achieve success and reach their full potential, regardless of background, identity, ability, culture, language, or life circumstances. School counselors will work to inspire and empower all students to pursue excellence, embrace diversity, and positively impact their local and global communities.

• There are attendance, academic, and social/emotional concerns.

• You need guidance around academic and/or college planning

• You need help arranging a teacher parent conference/meeting

• You need help making a referral to school based counseling services

• You need help problem-solving and/or do not know who else to ask to help

Contact the teacher directly if:

• Your student’s problems involve academic performance in a specific class.
