ANHS Counselor's Role

Counselor's Role

The Adrienne C. Nelson High school counseling team strongly supports the academic performance, career development, and personal growth of each student. Our goal is to assist students in their pursuits and to support them in the decision making process. We are committed to creating an encouraging atmosphere so that each student is empowered to set and pursue goals as they prepare for their post-high school futures.

Contact your counselor if:

  • There are attendance, academic, and social/emotional concerns.

  • You need guidance around academic and/or college planning

  • You need help arranging a teacher parent conference/meeting

  • You need help making a referral to school based counseling services

  • You need help problem-solving and/or do not know who else to ask to help

Contact the teacher directly if:

  • Your student’s problems involve academic performance in a specific class.

Teachers can be accessed by calling the staff access line at 503 353-5750 or their email addresses are in Adrienne C. Nelson Website under About Us - Staff Directory.

If the situation remains unresolved, contact the counselor for consultation.

Parents can check grades by going to ParentVUE.
