Library Policies

Library Book Checkout

How many books can I check out at a time?
- Students at ANHS have unlimited book checkout for library books.
  - This means what you can check out as many books as you feel you can be responsible for.
  - You must keep your checkouts current, meaning you must physically bring your books back to the library to renew if you are still using the materials.
  - Once your books are overdue, you may not checkout any more books until you have renewed your currently checked out materials.

How long is the checkout period?
- 3 Weeks

Am I allowed to renew my books? And how many times?
- You may renew your books as many times as you need as long as:
  - There are no holds on the book
  - You physically have the book with you

When am I allowed to checkout books?
- Before School
- During Passing Time
- Anytime during the school day with a green library pass
- After school

Although we do not charge late fines at ANHS, there are sometimes fines/fees associated with book losses or damages. Please see THIS document for more information about how fees are assessed.

Novel and Textbook Requests

All Departments

For beginning of the year textbook (non-novel) checkout, Allison and Shelly will contact you regarding class sizes and times for checkout.

English Department

Please use THIS form to indicate the novel(s), amount, and dates that you need for your course. This must be completed at least 7 days in advance to your planned pick up time.
- Allison reviews the 2022-2023 ANHS Novel Teaching Schedule at the beginning of each month to begin working with the other librarians to coordinate borrowing.
- For a list of all novels that we currently have housed at ANHS, please see THIS document **Please note that at this moment, this document is not updated in real time, and will fluctuate depending on the transfer requests of novels across the district. If you have a question about what novels are available to you for use, please reach out directly to Allison via email as early as possible so that she can work with the other librarians to check availability**

Please reach out to Allison directly via email (ackermana@nclack.k12.or.us) with responses to the following points to begin a discussion about collaborating for a research or reading lesson! Note that Allison is only available on Thursdays and Fridays for in person collaborative lessons.
