Student Parking Expectations
Adrienne C. Nelson High Student Parking Policy
Due to limited parking availability on campus, ANHS has established the following parking expectations for students. We ask that ANHS parents work with their children to ensure that these expectations are being followed throughout the school year.
Permit Expectations:
ANHS Students are required to have a parking permit when parking on campus during our hours of operation (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Parking permits are available to be purchased for $70 by senior students in August, and the remaining permits will be allocated via a lottery system to junior students.
Attendance Expectations:
By choosing to drive to school, students assume responsibility to get to class on time. Excessive tardiness may result in loss of parking privileges.
Student Parking Spots:
Students are only allowed to park in student designated parking spots, which are available on the north, south, east, and northwest sides of the building, and are labeled with signage. Students are prohibited from parking in any visitor spot, and any spots designated with a number. As a general rule, if the parking space has ANYTHING painted in it (a number, “visitor”, “reserved”, etc.) they are NOT allowed to park there.
Parking Violations:
Unsafe, illegal, or disruptive driving or behavior in the parking lot may result in immediate loss of parking privileges. This includes speeding, burning out, excessive/inappropriate music, failure to follow traffic signs, etc.
If a student parks on campus without a parking permit, or parks in a prohibited spot, the following steps will be taken:
First Offense: A note will be issued to the student and the offense will be documented.
Second Offense: The student will have a conference with an ANHS Administrator.
Third Offense: The student and their parent will have a required meeting with an ANHS Administrator.
Fourth/*Future Offenses: The student will be issued a fine of $20 & may result in a loss of parking privileges.
